SEED PRE CLEANING AND INTENSE CLEANING SYSTEMS


PETKUS Type K Seed Cleaners are optionally equipped with or without an indented cylinder (trieur). The K-series stands for robust and reliable cleaning machines, which are the best choice for smaller capacities of industrial cleaning or seed cleaning of grain, oilseeds, pulses, grass and vegetable seeds. The high standard of cleaning is achieved by a combination of several cleaning processes (the screening system, the air aspiration system, and the indented cylinder).

The product is moved from the inlet hopper through the pre-aspiration duct where light rejects, husk and dust are separated. Afterwards, the product is transported to the screen compartment. The top screen separates large and coarse rejects and is cleaned by means of a screen agitator. Light rejects are separated by the bottom screen and a brush carriage cleans the bottom screen. The screened product is transported through the final aspiration duct where further light rejects with a lower density are separated by the air flow. The cleaned product is transported to the indented cylinders where short rejects such as broken grains and round weed seeds are rejected. The cleaned seed is then moved to the bagging devices on the indented cylinder and can be bagged-off here.

SEED THRESHER


This laboratory seed thresher can easily thresh very small quantities of plants and or seed heads. The machine is very suitable for your research station where you can use the machine to thresh seeds out of single capsules, pods or heads. The machine threshes the seeds without damaging it and is very quickly and easily to clean between lots.

This thresher is used to damage free threshing of seeds out of small quantities of plants (umbels, siliques or pods). The machine is very suitable for breeding stations or processing stock seed productions.

The machine is equipped with an automatic air cleaning program and dust suction connections.

The plants are manually feed via an inlet table inside the threshing chamber (only the seed pods). The plants will be broken into smaller pieces inside the threshing chamber, by means of a rotor with three beaters which rotates in a threshing basket. The seeds are threshed out. By means of a discharge valve at the front side of the machine the straw can be discharged.

When the seeds pass the threshing basket they will be processed on a shaking screen. This shaking screen is equipped with an outlet and an overflow. The materials that exit the machine over the screen is waste and will be collected in an anti-static bin.
The seeds will fall through the screen and will enter a vibratory feeder that will feed the seeds uniformly into the air separator.
Here will lighter and heavier parts will be separated.

"Good" heavy seeds will leave the air separator at the front side and can be collected in a small bag.

This dryer is used for drying back larger seed lots. The dryer uses conditioned air. Different standard seed drums are available to dry rotating in our drying carriers. Temperature and RH are monitored and registered during the whole drying process.

SEED DISINFECTION UNIT


The seed disinfection unit is used to treat seeds in fluids to eliminate bacterial contamination or seed borne diseases.

It can be used as an imbibition unit for the uptake of moisture and for hydration before priming or as a hot water treatments unit.

Seeds to be treated can be placed in optional seed drums. The seeds will be processed in a uniform and reproducible manner.

This de-awner is used for de-bearding and polishing of seeds. The de-awning principle is used for carrot, spinach, beet and tomato seeds. The seed skin or beard is softly removed because the seeds rub against each other.

SEED BELT GRADERS


This belt grader is used to separate round from other shaped seeds/ parts or weeds in flower, herb, tree, cactus and vegetable seeds. E.g. separation of flower parts from primula seed or double seed from begonia. SEED CALIBRATING (SIZING) MACHINE


This seed calibrating (sizing) machine uses very accurate screens to separate seeds based on their size. You can use round or slotted screens. Calibrating seeds is important if you want to pack seeds by weight, to create uniformity in young plants and for precision sowing equipment.

ROTARY PELLETING MACHINE


This Rotary Pelleting Machines are suitable for the semi-automatic pelleting or encrusting of small seed lots of flower-, vegetable-, and agricultural seeds. The seeds continuously rotate in a three-dimensional movement which is crucial to obtain a good build-up of the pellets.

The RPM-500 can easily be inspected and cleaned. A transparent lid enables the continuous check of the process.

SEED FILM COATING MACHINE


This semi-automatic film coating machine is used for treating small quantities of seeds manually. Using film coating liquids mixed with water and/or fungicides (or other), the seeds are treated uniformly in this batch system. The treating time per batch is very short in this rotary film coating system, which makes it a fast system.
